What it costs, and who turns up
You are letting a stranger into your house. Here is who knocks, what it costs, and what we will not touch.
One person, and it is the same person every time
You are not booking a company that sends whoever is free. The person who quoted the job is the person who does it, so you are never explaining it twice on the doorstep.
What it costs, before we knock
Most jobs are charged by time. Anything materials-heavy gets a written figure first.
- £35 an hour, minimum one hour
- £130 for a half day of up to four hours
- Materials at cost, receipts handed over
- No call-out fee and no charge for quoting
Insured, and clear about what we do not do
Public liability insured. Gas work goes to a Gas Safe engineer and notifiable electrics go to a registered electrician, every time. You want to hear that from a tradesman before he starts, not after.

On the day we said, in the window we said. Waste goes with us unless you want it kept.
Common questions
Is there a minimum charge?
One hour. If the job takes twenty minutes we will usually ask if there is anything else on the list while we are there, because you have paid for the hour either way.
Do you do small jobs?
Small jobs are most of the work. One shelf is a job. Nobody needs to apologise for the size of it.
How soon can you come?
Most jobs the same week. If it is a leak or a door that will not lock, say so and we will get there sooner.
Do you supply materials?
Yes, at what they cost us, and you get the receipt. If you have already bought them, that is fine too.
Can you come in the evening or at a weekend?
Saturdays yes, at the same rate. Evenings only for something that will not wait until morning.
What will you not take on?
Gas work of any kind, and electrical work that has to be notified. Both need someone registered, and we will say so rather than have a go.
